This Catholic Has An Opinion
Are you a Catholic that is sick of getting stumped when it comes to other people asking you about your faith? Do you need to know some of the things that are necessary to defend the Catholic faith? There are many questions, myths, concernts, and out right lies that people of other religions like to use to stump Catholics. Here are some of the things you can use to defend your faith.
First, this is a bit uncommon, but if a Jewish person ever starts asking you questions about your Catholic faith, one thing you can do is respond with this question. How can you not believe that Jesus Christ is the messiah, but you can believe he is a prophet? Here is why you ask this question. If Jesus Christ was not the son of God, but only a prophet, then he is also a liar and there were no prophets that claimed they were the son of God.
Second, if someone starts talking about the bible and they are a protestant, this means Lutheran, Nazerene, Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, or any other Christian faith other than Catholic. You can simply remind them that everything in their bible came from the Catholic bible and it was human beings that decided to remove the 7 books that the Catholics have and the protestant don't have.
Third, when someone says to you that you worship statues because you are Catholic, then you can simply explain to them that the statues are a tradition and are there for a reason. They are used in order to teach children and others about the bible. Each statue has a story behild it and is used in order to explain about the bible passage that the statues represent or the person that is represented from the bible.
