Cheap Air Travel - Beat The High Gas Prices This Summer
There are ways to get around the crazy gas prices and get cheap air travel this year. You need your vacation and the gas
prices have everybody scared that they will not get the relaxation they need because of the higher prices for everything that
is related to the oil industry. Here are some tips on how to travel for cheap with the airlines.
First, this year you will have to be willing to be flexible. Don't even attempt to be on a tight schedule because many
flights have already been canceled and this can cause your travel plans to change in a hurry. Also, if you are flexible you
can save money by either trying to fly standby or flying out on the right days in order to get the better prices.
Second, book your flights at least 6 weeks in advance or wait and take a last minute deal about a week ahead of time. You
are safer with the advance booking, but if you are flexible with your destination you can get a great deal on a last minute
flight sometimes.
Last, package your flight, hotel, and rental car into one package. This will save you a ton of cash and if you compare the
prices from all the major travel sites online you will be able to find the best deal out there. I was able to travel with
one other person from Chicago to Orlando for 4 nights and 5 days for $350 per person. That include our hotel (at a 4 star
resort), airfare on Northwest, and our rental car. The trip was great and we only had to deal with one issue on the way home
and that was a canceled flight due to weather, but we spent some time in the airport and were able to get home later that
night.
Now you have some cheap air travel tips to use to help you get the best deal on your vacation this year. Make sure to be
flexible with your time frame and destination, book your flights either 6 weeks in advance or be willing to take a great last
minute deal, and package your flight, car, and hotel all in one for a better price.
