Are you interested in making money with auctions? Do you want to purchase items at a surplus auction and turn around and profit from them? This is a great way to make some good cash and even turn it into your own business. You can make a lot of money from buying from surplus auctions and seling online with eBay or even with your local classifieds. Here is how you do it.
First, you need to find some auctions in your area. There are always a ton of great auctions that you can pick up collectibles, books, furniture, cars, and many other items from. The key is that you need to have a very good idea of what you are looking for and know what it will sell for. If you are a collector of an item, then that is a good place to start.
Another way to do it is to buy for cheap and in bulk. Books are a great way to do this. Plus with books you can sell them on Amazon and it is much easier to get them sold. You can usually get books at auctions for very cheap. They will most likely be sold in a lot of a couple hundred or so and what you can do is pick out the ones that will sell well for a good price and donate the rest to your area library.
Second, you need to go to the auctions and get a feel for what is there and what you might be able to get for a good price. Expect that there are going to be some things you will purchase that just will not sell, for whatever reason. Do not be afraid to take a chance on something that is very cheap. Sometimes you can get pallets of items, boxes of items, or other packagings of items for just a few dollars. This is a good way to test them because if you don't make your money back you are not out very much.
Last, when you use surplus auctions to purchase items to sell for a profit you will end up with a surplus yourself. This is just something that happens because you might buy a box of items and sell half of them for a very nice profit, but not be able to sell the rest of them on eBay or through your classifieds. You can have a garage sale a couple times a year to clear out your surplus and get a little extra money out of your items. This is a great way to profit from things that are hard to sell. Then, whatever is left just donate to goodwill.
