So you have decided to open a business offline or online and you need to get the word out, but you do not have a lot of cash to spend on advertising. There are many free ways or very cheap ways you can advertise, but you need to know that free advertising is only as good as the time you are willing to put in. Here are some free advertising ideas for you.
First, if your business has a website, then you can do exactly what I am doing right now and write about your website. You can write articles and include a link to your website at the bottom so that people will read the articles and go check out your site. This is a great way to get very good traffic to your website and it is completely free, other than your time.
Second, you could print up a bunch of business cards and hand them out to everybody you meet. You can go to a office store and get 1,000 business cards for about $20-$30. Give them to the server at a restaurant, your bartender, the person that cuts your hair, the cashier at the store, and anybody else you run into during your day.
You will be amazed at how well this works. There are actually sales representatives that do nothing more than hand out business cards all day and they make a killing selling their products. People keep business cards and when the time comes that they need what you have they will remember that they have it.
Last, you can attach a signature to your outgoing emails. If you think about it you probably send quite a few emails throughout the week and you can use that as free advertising. All you have to do is edit the signature on your email account, write a quick tag, and include either your website or a phone number for them to call.
You can also get a stamp made and put the same type of thing on the envelope for all your outgoing mail. There are a bunch of people that will see your mail so this can be a great way to get the word out for the cost of the stamp.
